DALLAS, TX – July 6, 2025 – In a surprising turn of events that could signal a major realignment in American politics, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban has indicated his interest in joining forces with Elon Musk’s newly announced “America Party.” The move comes just a day after Musk, in a public split with President Donald Trump, declared the formation of the new political entity.

Cuban, the outspoken owner of the Dallas Mavericks and a prominent investor, took to social media to offer tangible support for Musk’s nascent political movement. In a widely circulated post, Cuban publicly offered the assistance of the Center for Competitive Democracy, an organization he works with, to help get the “America Party” on ballots across the country.

This public gesture was amplified by Cuban’s positive reaction to a poll posted by Musk on X, the social media platform Musk owns, which asked if a new political party was needed. Cuban reposted the poll with a series of affirmative emojis, signaling his clear endorsement of the concept of a third-party challenge to the established Democratic and Republican duopoly.

The “America Party” was announced by Musk on Saturday following a contentious falling out with President Trump over a significant spending bill. Musk, who has been a vocal critic of the bill, positioned his new party as a necessary alternative for a populace he claims is disenfranchised by the current two-party system.

Cuban’s apparent eagerness to engage with the “America Party” is particularly noteworthy given his recent political history. In the 2024 presidential election, Cuban was a vocal supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic ticket. His past interactions with Musk have also been characterized by public disagreements on a variety of issues.

However, Cuban has also been a long-standing critic of the entrenched two-party system, often lamenting its inefficiency and divisiveness. His offer of logistical support to Musk’s endeavor suggests that his desire for a viable third option in American politics may outweigh his past political allegiances and personal differences with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO.

While Cuban has not yet released a formal statement detailing the extent of his intended involvement, his public signals have sent ripples through the political world. Analysts are now closely watching to see if this initial gesture of support will evolve into a more formal role for Cuban within the “America Party.” The potential alliance of two of the nation’s most high-profile and deep-pocketed billionaires could provide a significant launchpad for a third-party movement, a feat that has historically proven difficult in the American political landscape.

The “America Party,” still in its infancy, has yet to announce a detailed platform or a roster of candidates. However, the prospect of a Musk-Cuban alliance has already ignited speculation about the party’s potential to disrupt the 2026 midterm elections and beyond. For now, the political world waits to see if Mark Cuban’s signal of interest will translate into a full-fledged commitment to Elon Musk’s ambitious political venture.
